Melanin Model Association Praises HBCU Culture In 2nd Annual Fashion Show

Dillard University’s Melanin Model Association hosted their 2nd annual fashion show last Friday on their campus. Being known for their fashion clubs and shows, this year MMA’s theme was to honor and celebrate the culture and fashion of HBCU’s. The fashion show was simply amazing, with some of the dopest brands and models in the city.

Jourdan Clark, a graduating senior and president of the organization says MMA (Melanin Model Association) was “drafted and crafted” by her, for creatives and models to have a platform to display their talent. With this being her second year hosting the show under MMA, Jourdan has worked with ten local models, eight designers, four photographers and videographers. Yup, all local! The designers include: Geechi, Famlife, Pray for The Sleep, Flowcosm, Polished Brand, Enjoy Life and Live, UndeRayted, and Wrldinvsn.

Melanin Model Association is an organization drafted and created by me to prompt more creatives, models, innovators and free thinkers to have a platform to display their gift while helping enhance, perfect, and support them.
